Bioenergetic Informed Yoga is a therapeutic practice that integrates movement, breathwork, and meditation to release physical tension and restore harmony between the mind and body.  Drawing from the principles of Bioenergetic therapy, pioneered by Alexander Lowen, it focuses on how our psyche and emotional experiences are reflected in the body.  This approach helps individuals process and release unresolved tension or trauma that can manifest as chronic muscular tightness or energy blockages.

THE SERVICE

Bio-energetic Yoga

As a Relational Body Psychotherapist, my work explores how we relate to our bodies, to others and the world around us.  With years of experience in one-to-one yoga teaching, I’ve developed a deep understanding of the body’s energy system and how it reflects our inner thoughts, feelings and body sensations.  In my classes, I tune into the body's innate wisdom, encouraging listening and healing in the present moment.  When given the freedom to move and tune into ourselves, this intelligence can guide us back to balance and wholeness. While Bioenergetic yoga shares similarities with somatic therapies and traditional yoga, it uniquely emphasises the emotional insights that arise through physical awareness. It specifically addresses how stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief are stored within the body’s tissues. These lived experiences shape how we think, feel, act, and move. By bringing attention to physical sensations and the narratives held within the nervous system, we can uncover and challenge the beliefs that influence our relationships with ourselves and others. At its heart, this work is about fostering growth and reconnection. Often, all we need is to create the space within us to let this transformation occur.

  • What can I expect from the weekly session?
    In each session, you can expect a combination of grounding exercises, gentle movement, conscious breathing, and mindfulness techniques designed to release tension and enhance the mind-body connection. Sessions may include opportunities for self-expression, such as vocalizations or gestures, to help process and release emotions. Every class is tailored to create a safe and supportive space for you to explore how your body stores and expresses your experiences. No prior experience is necessary; the exercises are adaptable to all levels of fitness and mobility.
  • Do I need experience with Bio-energetics to join this class?
    No prior experience is needed. The class is open to beginners and more experienced practitioners alike. Whether you’re new to body-centered practices or have experience with yoga or somatic therapies, Bioenergetic yoga provides accessible techniques to explore the relationship between your body, emotions, and energy. You’ll be guided step-by-step through each exercise to ensure you feel comfortable and supported.
  • How long will it take for me to see results?
    The experience of results will vary for each person. Some participants notice an immediate sense of relaxation, emotional release, or increased energy after just one session. For deeper, more lasting changes, such as improved emotional awareness or release of chronic tension, consistent practice over several weeks or months is recommended. Everyone’s journey is unique, and progress depends on your goals, engagement, and personal circumstances.

Hello, I'm Natasha

I have over 15 years of experience working therapeutically with clients, I am a trainee Relational Body Pyschotherapist, Biodynamic massage therapist and Bio - energetic Yoga teacher.  Developing a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work, as it is essential for creating a safe space for healing. I always take the time to get to know you and your history before integrating conscious touch or massage into the sessions.
